On a Mission

On a Mission

Okay so the past two days, I have been on a mission to get this hotel room in ORDER.  Now if you know me I am a little OCD.  I need things in order and after this weekend this hotel is a disaster!  So my game plan for today was driving lessons, laundry, market, and rest!

So we start the day with driving lessons.  Today Mr Jim says we are going to learn crosswalks and do round abouts again to see if I feel any better about them. So we get up and ready and "Off We Go."
I don't think I have EVER heard Natalie and Denman be so quiet! I'm not sure if they were nervous or tired.  After the first few minutes of driving Mr. Jim noticed that Natalie had her eyes closed the whole time. So I guess that means they were nervous.  Mr. Jim assured them I was a great driver and I would not run over anything today...Then he looked a me and said, "Right?"  I said, "I hope not!" So he began our lesson, and I actually mastered all of the crosswalks.

Now on to round abouts. Mr. Jim says, "Okay lets do this one first."  He said lets go straight at the next round about.  I said, "Okay!"  Sooo I went STRAIGHT at the next round about.  Totally forgot that you needed to stop at the white line first to be sure no cars were coming from the RIGHT!!.  Mr. Jim squealed, yes squealed and said, "Oh my,  you just gave me a heart attack!"  Natalie now had her hands over her eyes and Denman was just drawing away and laughing.  I told Mr. Jim I was so sorry, but I didn't realize I needed to stop there.  He said, "Well, you made it so all is well."  LOL!!  Now I could not help but giggle a little and Mr. Jim finally got to where he could breathe and laugh about it too.  He took out his handkerchief and wiped off his face and said, "Okay, so lets try that again."  I wonder if all driving lessons are as fun as mine. :)

My driving buddies. :)

Now that we survived the driving lessons for today, time for laundry.  We took down our first load and I'm thinking we made at least ten trips back and forth getting it all washed and dried.  The washing machines were VERY busy today so we had to keep checking on when it would be our turn.  NOTE TO SELF...don't do laundry on Monday in a hotel!!  The kids LOVED it because they feel like every trip to the laundry room is an adventure and they run the whole way so at least they got great exercise.  OH HOW I CAN'T WAIT FOR OUR HOUSE TO BE READY!!

This is after about three trips down!
We found a balloon and it started raining.

Ok so now driving is done, laundry is done, and so off to the market we go.  We got stuff for dinner and then back to get the hotel in order.  I am soo amazed at how much the kids are helping with everything.  We got it all cleaned up in about 30 minutes if that tells you how big this place is.  We are living on TOP of each other and I felt like the walls were closing in.  We reorganized a few things and now it is much better.  Denman was beyond whinny and Natalie was tired so we put on the cartoons that they have here.  They LOVED it!  I even got a chance to finally watch "Breaking Dawn."  Granted... it was interrupted at least 15 times, but I finished it.

It was now time for Rusty to get home so I started dinner while Natalie had a great idea.  Lets see if we can figure out how much each coin is worth.  I needed to learn that one too so we sat down and figured it all out.  We are now experienced on the money in Scotland.  They have coins as their one pounds where we have a dollar bill.  They have a variety of coins too.  They have a one pence coin, two pence coin, five pence coin, ten pence coin, twenty pence coin, and 50 pence coin.  Now this tells me one thing...I MUST GET A COIN PURSE!  I'm going to loose all of those things if I don' t get a zipper coin purse soon!

Natalie helped stage this picture.  We learned our coins today. :)

Denman entertained himself all day by changing outfits.  He went from Captain America to a Ranger Baseball player, to a magician, to a Super Captain America.  Gotta love his imagination!

The verse that I think sums up our day for today would be...

Jeremiah 31:2  This is what the LORD says: "The people who survive the sword will find favor in the wilderness; I will come to give rest to Israel."

We have been hanging out in the wilderness where nothing makes sense or feels comfortable.  Everything is brand new and part of a learning curve.  I can't say that I have felt much of a comfort zone nor can I find a "resting" place.  However, today... I found REST in my wilderness of stress.  :)
