Finding my way back!

Finding My Way Back!

I had BIG plans for us this week.  I was NOT going to let another dark day take over.  We were headed to play at Hazelhead Park one day and then to see The Lorax the next day.  The kids were so excited about seeing The Lorax.  It was going to be our first 3D movie here and they couldn't wait to see if it was the same as the 3D in Texas.

The first day we called Sofia and her kiddos and headed to the Park to play.  They had a BALL!  It was soo cold but they didn't even notice.  Denman wouldn't even wear his jacket.  I took some pictures because you MUST see the play equipment here.  I am terrified that they are going to fall off of these things.  I made sure to look up the hospital on the way home just in case we had to make a visit after our next park day.

Before we made it to the play equipment, we saw a sign for a Petting Zoo.  Oh how they LOVE animals.  So off we went to check out the animals of Aberdeen.  Natalie couldn't believe how big the bunnies were.  They had a ton of them. I think we counted 25 bunnies, and they were all different.  This one was Natalie's favorite. :)

These bunnies are HUGE!!

Denman thought the Turkey was cool!
I hope he isn't around for Thanksgiving. :)

Natalie smiles for yet ANOTHER picture.
Can you tell she LOVES the camera.
She said the goats stink.

I have NO idea what this is called.
It looks like a cross between a llama and a camel.

Denman was showing me how the turkey was walking. Do you like the outfit?
I think he wants everyone to know where we are from. :)

Look Nana, Denman said it is just like your jeep. :)

This was Natalie's favorite thing.  It actually digs holes too.

Check out this one.  Denman almost did a flip when he got off.

After the park we were all ready for some lunch so we headed to McDonalds and then to The Lorax.  I'm pretty sure the people in McDonalds will know our name before we get into the house.  I totally pretend we are back in Texas eating our yummy nuggets and fries. :)

We then headed to the mall to see The Lorax.  We loaded up on candy and I got some nachos praying that the cheese would taste just a little like the cheese in the movie theatre back home.  BUT NO SUCH LUCK!  I ate it, but it was AWFUL!!!

Now I know that this movie is a kid's movie, but I got three MAJOR God winks watching it.  The first one was during the previews.  We got there in plenty of time to get settled and to see all of the them.  Madagascar came up first as a must see movie.  As soon as the preview was over, Natalie leaned over and said now THAT God wink was for me.  Oh how that warmed my heart!  Natalie and Denman went to see that movie with Kera and the girls before we left and Natalie said that made her feel like they were thinking about her today.  I can now face ANY dark day that comes my way because my sweet little girl knows how to look for God Winks now! :)

As I watched the movie my heart and mind were both WIDE open.  I won't ruin the movie if you haven't seen it yet, but The Lorax talks about when times get tough, you take care of your people.  You surround yourself with the people you love and call on each other when times get tough.  That is exactly what my friends did for me when I lost my way!  You all brought me back and helped me, as Dee said,  "Get My Groove Back!"  THANK YOU ALL!

And the last God Wink came toward the end of the movie.  The onceler said, if you plant a seed, it will grow.  I kept hearing that over and over and then it hit me.  That is what I am suppose to do.  I am suppose to plant the seed.  I'm not suppose change everyone that I meet or even take on some big project.  I am suppose to plant seeds in everyone that I meet and let God take care of the rest.  See, I like BIG projects that I can finish or pass on.  I like doing the work myself.  That is NOT God's plan for me here.  Right now, I think I am just suppose to shine HIS light and plant HIS love then let HIM take it from there.

I felt like  HUGE weight had been lifted from me when I left the theatre that day.  You don't have to be in charge, or plan an event, or know all the answers.  You don't have to always say the right thing, have it all together, or be perfect.  All God wants us to do is ...

To love one another, as He has loved us!  And that my friends is what I am going to do!

  1. :) I think the llama looking animal is an alpaca- but not sure and I think the rabbit is a Flemish Giant. We use to have two of them and they are HUGE. I love your 'God Winks'. Had a few of your days lately and these sure put things in perspective for me.
    Love and hugs.
