What a fun weekend!
We have been soo patient as we wait for BRAVE to come to the UK! Finally it is here. We headed to the mall to eat lunch, find clothes for school, and to see BRAVE. Natalie was soo excited when she found out the Ava and Julia get to come and go with us. We loaded up on candy, posed for a picture and then headed into the movie..aka in the UK cinema.
I'm pretty sure we have some Merida girls on our hands here!
We got on our 3D glasses and we are ready for some BRAVE!
After the movie, it was soo fun to hear them talk about what all they saw in the movie that is just like Scotland. They started talking about all the castles they visited, all the animals that they have noticed, and how much fun it would be to learn how to shoot an arrow. Priceless. I must say that we are still debating the bear thing. We have not heard much about bears here so we are looking into that one.
That night after Brave, we brought Julia and Ava over to see our house and to play. They had a ball. We were heading to Tracy's house for dinner and taking our yummy TEXAS queso to share. Jen, Patrick, Renee, Sammy, and Renne's mom were meeting us there.
It was such a great time. We ate dinner, played minute to win it games, and talked about how school is going to start before we know it. It would be our last gathering at Tracy's house before she heads back. :(
The next day we met at Hazelhead park to play, ride scooters and skateboards, and to do a scavenger hunt. Jen created an awesome hunt for the kids to do as a team. It was awesome to watch as they worked together.
We met another mom from Houston that day too. Emily has been here a year already so we call her our experienced one. She goes to the International School too so I had a ton of questions for her about that. She still talked to me the next day so I guess I didn't ask too many questions..LOL
Jen gives the directions for the hunt and tells the kids the ground rules.
This is their team and they are already scoping out their plan.
Off they go to find their treasures. Denman refused to take off his helmet so now he would be easy for me to keep up with.
When they all came back they were saying that the marshmallows were the hardest things to find. We think the seagulls ate them all while they were hunting.
It is so comforting to watch God work on the friendships that we are making every day. Each day we meet new people and new friends who immediately add to our experience here. We are creating our own village here to help raise our kiddos. We are so blessed with the friendships that God provides! It is the relationships in life that keep us going and I am so grateful for each one!
I love that you got to see BRAVE!! It finally came out here in Singapore too! :). I went to see it opening weekend - they have assigned seating here - I actually kind of like it. :) Being the white girl and red long-is hair, I got looks as I walked out of the theater and next to the poster for it. I am soo glad that you are finding community there in Scotland. Blessings - Caitlin
