Saturday night at the beach!

Saturday night at the beach!

It was such a beautiful day and was suppose to stay that way through the night so we all decided we should head to the beach.  It was by far one of the best family nights we have ever had!  There were no swimsuits or floats needed for this beach trip which made it even better!

Tracy and Chad were headed back to Houston soon and we wanted to make sure we spent as much time as we could with them before they left.  We had a campfire, made smores, ran up and down the sand dunes, and had many laughs as we told all of our great Aberdeen stories.  Such a great memory that we will cherish forever. :)

This is at Cruden Bay by the Slain's Castle.

All of the kids started off with their jackets and hanging
close by but not for long!

We are really going to miss Chad and Tracy and their precious family!
We will see you guys at Christmas!

Sammy and Rusty get started on making our campfire.

Denman insisted on wearing shorts and no shoes so he could run in and out of the water.
He had a BALL!  I can't even count how many WAHOO's came out of his mouth that night.

The girls rolled up their jeans and tried to stand the water.
They were hoping to find sea shells but no luck.

Every time the dark clouds would fill up the sky, you would then see this.
A light would shine through the middle of the clouds and just spread out.
It was a night we hoped would never end.

Patrick and Jen brought the goodies for smores.
I think we enjoyed the marshmallows the most. :)

My saving grace in Aberdeen.
"My Aberdeen Girls!"

Denman spent a lot of time running in and out of this puddle.
He was soaking wet but could care less.

I think the pizza we brought was bigger than Denman. :)
This was our campfire!  Reminded me of many canoe trips made to HUGO!

There was a huge sand dune right in front of us that Rusty said we must climb up and see the view. So I headed up with my camera in hand hoping that I didn't drop it along the way.  As I got closer to the top I hear..."Wait for ME!!"

Denman came running up with the biggest grin and WAY faster than I was able to get to the top.

Here he comes. :)

He made it to the top!  He was soo proud.
He  yelled at everyone to be sure that they saw he was up there.

And this was the beautiful view.  I appreciate this world soo much more now!

This made everyone laugh out loud.  Denman took off screaming at the top of his lungs as he ran down the sand dune.  It was hilarious.  I just prayed he didn't trip and roll down.  He did it a hundred times after this one.

The kids decided to take a break and eat their smores.  The girls were inseparable and spent the whole time making sand castles and making up games with the Frisbee.

I love that sweatshirts and jeans are the normal attire here!

Rusty and Jen buried Aaron in the sand.
The sand is so soft and easy to dig.
This is Denman saying he is not ready to go even though it is getting dark
and he just got the last marshmallow!

We can't wait to do this again!
