School Fun!
School is going great for the kiddos. They are doing amazing things every week! Natalie and Denman both get up, get dressed and are ready to go every morning for school. It is such a blessing for all of us! I am so thankful for the amount of time and energy that the teachers give to them on a daily basis.
Denman's favorite place to play on the playground is the boat.
I love this sweet grin.
One morning when I dropped Denman off at school, he wanted to show me something. He went straight to the logs and built a huge tower. I had to take a picture because he was so happy.
This picture was on the ISA website and I think it is hilarious because he is wearing one of Natalie's Glen Loch shirt. He has adjusted so well to this school, but he is still hoping to go to Glen Loch.
He made Kung Fu Panda!
I was cooking dinner and had to stop to capture this one. Denman is reading the book to Natalie while Natalie plays a math game on the computer. It was so sweet.
Denman made this at one of his centers at school and asked the teachers to leave it out so I could get a picture of it when I came to pick him up.
This picture made me a little sad. This is a picture that Denman drew one day. It is a picture of our house in The Woodlands. He said it was the best house we have ever had. :( I told him I missed that house too! AND OUR NEIGHBORS!!!
They water colored an animal and Denman choose a Butterfly.
Denman's class celebrated Canada's Thanksgiving as part of their International week and this is a Canadian man that they created.
They dressed up in a hockey uniform because in Canada they love to play hockey.
Natalie's class learned all about Brazil. This was such an exciting unit for me too because I learned a TON about both places.
In Brazil they have a huge carnival where everyone dresses up and decorates the streets and houses. Natalie's class made colorful birds to put outside their classroom to give it more color.
They also made headdresses to wear during their Brazilian dance.
They made a jungle scene outside their room too that displayed all of the animals of the rain forest.
One of my favorite things that the Second Grade Class does each month is a field trip to Fergus House. This is a nursing home that the kids visit each month. Natalie gets so excited when it is her day to go. She puts on a church dress, packs a bag of things to share, and practices her song that they plan to sing that day. It warms my heart so much to know that it means so much to her.
This is Natalie sharing one of her stories with a resident.
They sang two songs this week from their RATS PLAY. They are putting on a play November 29th and 30th called RATS. They are working hard learning their lines and songs and wanted to share the songs with the residents.
It is so exciting to see what the school will plan each week to make the kids time here in Aberdeen so memorable. We are so blessed to be a part of such a caring group of educators.
