A beautiful day for Golf!
We finally scheduled a golf day and the weather was just beautiful! Jennifer got us a tee time for 10:30 and we played all day! I forgot how much I love to play. The stories, laughs, and memories were priceless!
We played at the Kippie Lodge where we took our golf lessons. It is a nine hole golf course that was perfect for us. It was Jennifer, Kristen, Emily and me. I am already looking forward to our next fun day. We have decided that if the sun is out we are headed to the course.
Emily hit a VERY long first drive and made us all look bad. :)
After a hole of not so sure if we should keep score or not, we decided to stop for a picture. They don't have golf carts here so walked the course and got our exercise while we played too. Such a win win day!
Kristen knocked it up by the green with her pitching wedge. LOL!! I'm pretty sure that is the only club that she needs after she hits with her driver.
It was a little chilly, but so much fun! We even pretended like we knew all of the golf rules. :)
I think the Gimme rule is MY favorite. :)
Jennifer put it in real quick before we headed to the next hole.
Emily is really thinking about this next put. It must have been for a birdie.
Ok so we are FOR SURE not so serious about our golf game. When I saw this awesome grass as we looked for one of our balls, I had to take a picture. This reminds me of all of the Dr. Seus books. I think it might be where Whoville must be. :)
Ok so I KNOW this is VERY hard to believe, but I have THREE witnesses. On the second hole, I decided to try out my new driver. (THANK YOU BOBBY!) I hit it a "little" to the left and it bounced SO high off of a rock that was up by the green. When we went to see where it went after it bounced, it was on the GREEN! It was hilarious. So my strategy now is to use ALL of your surroundings to help you out!
We of course had to then take a picture. I was on the hole in ONE! We won't talk about how many it took me to put it in though. :) Can we say Gimme....
The next few holes were full of laughter. The sun was so bright and our shadows were everywhere.
We had to stop and have a little fun with that one. :)
Emily is up again. I think she plays with two sets of clubs. Maybe that is her secret.
Jennifer hit an AMAZING shot on hole four. It was so exciting for all of us. She just started playing and I know that was the shot that will keep her coming back.
We were the only ones on the golf course until about hole six. Then we met a Scottish man. We told him to play through because we were visiting and talking so it might take a while. He said, "So I hear!" Pretty sure he will find another golf course if he sees us on it again. LOL!
We learned many things about each other on this golf adventure, and I look forward to many many more stories to come out very soon!
I think I found my new hobby. Thank you Bobby for loaning me a set of clubs to bring over. I promise to take VERY good care of them. Now if I can just figure out how far each club goes then I think we will be ready for some tournaments. LOL!
