Halloween in Scotland

Halloween in Scotland!

We decorated our house for Halloween and I think we were the only one on our street.  Denman was so excited to come home every day and see the decorations.  He would always hope someone would come over and we could scare them with our decorations.

Thankfully we have a store here called ASDA that is just like our Walmart at home.  I SOOO miss our Target!  We just can't find a place that is as good as Target, but we are still looking.

This is the bat that Denman picked out to put by the front door. He said it was the spookiest.

Natalie liked the happy pumpkin the best so we put it on the garage.

This skeleton was Denman's punching bag all month!  I'm excited to say that he did survive.

All the kids that came over made a picture to go in our front window.  It was so much fun hanging up their artwork and then having them come back over and go straight to the window to see if it was still up.

This is a spiderweb with a pumpkin ghost in it.  Denman thought it was hilarious that the pumpkin was a ghost too.

On Friday, Denman had a dress up party and we searched all over town for his BAT costume.  I finally found it at a convenient store...aka in the UK (grocery express)  They had a parade around the school and tons of fun games that day.  I love watching Denman be his crazy self again.

Denman gets in line for the parade.

He flapped his wings like a bat the entire time.

He was so excited about going trick or treating.

Sofia and Gabbi are loving the parade too.

When we got back to the classroom, IT WAS SNOWING...... So you think a parade, candy, and games aren't enough excitement for one day.  Throw in some snow and you have a group of kids who are OUT OF CONTROL!!!!  We all just laughed and let them go.

We played pass the parcel which reminds me of musical chairs but you get to open a present.

Denman was patiently waiting his turn.

He got the apple on the second try.

He said it was yummy!!!!

It was a REALLY fun day!

We are all waiting for dismissal so we can go and play.

This is Denman and Finn going for the donuts.  Denman had to play this one twice.   You are not suppose to use your hands.

This is a game where you dance around and try to land on your home country.  I love that Denman now knows that he is from Texas that is in The United States that is in North America.  AMAZING!!

Apple juice time!!!

After school we all headed home for some dinner and down time.  We were then headed to
the Trunk or Treat at school.  They parked cars in a circle and the parents decorate their cars and hand out candy from their trunks.  It was awesome and a great way to keep all of the kids contained.

Denman is ready, facepaint and all.

Natalie found a broom to use for her witch costume.

Romina, Eugenia, Melania, and Fransico all came over so we could follow each other to the Trunk or Treat.  It was so fun watching them all run around the yard while we wait for the time to go by.

I think they got tired of all of the pictures.

Natalie and Eugeina take off.

Some of the cars were too scary for Denman so we just kept walking.

Denman decided to get some candy from a distance.

Kaitlyn was having a blast running around making sure she got to all of the different kinds of candy.

Denman liked this one.. he got to go and pick out his favorite one.

This was my favorite one.  They were all dressed up like scooby doo, and they brought scooby doo fruit snacks back from the states to hand out as their candy.  We visited their car twice.

Just too cute... I had to get a picture of them.

Look Pepaw.... we even found Shrek.

Nico and Natalie stop just for a few minutes so I can grab a cute photo.

Eugenia is just precious.  She made sure Natalie made it to every car.

All the girls are having a ball!

Natalie stops for a hot dog but Denman is NOT interested.

It was so fun having all of our Texas peeps with us on Halloween.

Renee and Kaitlyn smile for me.

Aaron and Jackson were comparing their candy bags.

Lauren and Natalie make two beautiful witches.

They played duck duck goose and Melania wanted to be in the circle too.

Katrin and Romina are my LIFESAVERS here.  I LOVE having such amazing moms in preschool with us.

It is finally the DAY OF HALLOWEEN!!

Now to go out at night door to door to trick or treat for REAL!

We all piled up and headed over to Jennifer's house to celebrate Halloween.  She has a neighborhood full of Halloweeners so we all went to her house to go trick or treating together.

We filled them full of pizza first.

Emma and Grace are ready to go.

Denman has been excited all week for this one.

Michael and Emily can put a smile on any one's face. :)

Jason and Kristen always bring the fun!

Patrick and Jennifer were the best host.  Thank you for making our Halloween so special!

It is Jennifer's birthday MONTH so she brought out her wine glass to help celebrate.

And they are OFF!!!  Time to trick or treat.  It was SOOOOO cold.  I headed out with the kids and the boys because Rusty didn't make it back in town yet.

This is our first house to hit.  When you trick or treat here you have to tell the person at the door a joke or sing for them to get your candy.  They will not give it to you unless you do.  It was hilarious listening to the jokes that they made up when they went to the door.  You MUST ask Denman to tell his jokes.  HILARIOUS!

This was a teacher from the school and she had them sing a song she knew they were learning for her.

Pat Daddy is in DA HOUSE!!!

After MANY houses and plenty of candy, we all headed back to the house to be entertained by the trick or treaters that came to Jennifer's door.  I think Rusty had more fun watching all the kiddos than the kiddos did.

The boys warm up after a chilly trick or treating trip.  They made it home with everyone.

We got to visit and tell lots of fun stories while the house was peaceful!  I promise I didn't drink that whole wine bottle by myself!!!

We are looking forward to many more holidays to come with our Aberdeen family.   I feel so blessed to have a group of such amazing friends here that are helping us make it like home.  It was a Halloween to remember!  HOT TUB!!! LOL
