We got our second package!
I can't begin to tell you what getting a package means to these kiddos. It warms my heart to know that they are starting to appreciate the little things in life.
We knew mom and dad were sending us a package so the kids would look for it every day. It came one day while they were still at school and I saved it for them to open. It was so much fun because then we facetimed mom and dad so they could see their reaction too.
When they opened the package they yelled and screamed this is for me, that is for you! It was so fun. I am not sure even Christmas will compare to getting a package when you are living overseas.
We are ready to see what all in is the package.
Natalie had NO more patience with the tape so she grabbed the scissors.
Denman got distracted by the tape sticking to his leg.
This is the grin that makes my day. Denman LOVES LOVES fruit snacks and that was the first thing that he went for. He put them all in a line and ate them one by one.
Natalie wanted spaghetti made for her dinner when we got it all out. Mom and Dad you know how to make my monkeys smile!
I told them that THESE were all for ME!
I think the best part of the box was they put in some Copenhagen for Rusty and the kids decided they needed to open it up and hide all five cans somewhere in the house. It was HILARIOUS! They ran all over the house trying to find good hiding places. I kept up with the first four places that they thought of, but then quit watching where they hid the last one.
When Rusty got home he had to go on a hunt to find all of his cans. He still had one more to find and both kids had NO idea where it was. Oh that made me giggle. LOL! He spent a good two hours secretly looking around for that last can. He finally found it with the shoes. LOL!
Thank you soo much MOM and Dad for sending us so many yummy treats. It helps me make it through this journey. Knowing we have a familiar meal to come home to really helps us all feel like we are still connected to Texas. Ms. Karen said that at school Denman shows off his cheez its and tells everyone it came in a box from Texas and his PaPa sent it to him.
Never underestimate the power of a good home cooked TEXAS meal!
